Marvel actor Jonathan Majors faces new lawsuit filed by ex-girlfriend
Disgraced Marvel actor Jonathan Majors is facing a new lawsuit for assault and defamation filed by his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari. Majors was recently found guilty of assault in the third degree and a further charge of harassment.
The new lawsuit, which was filed in a New York federal court, accuses Majors of assaulting Jabbari, claiming he also engaged in intentional infliction of emotional distress, malicious prosecution, battery, and defamation.
Alongside alleging Majors performed a “pattern of pervasive domestic abuse”, Jabbari claims he verbally abused her, frightened her, and inflicted “serious injuries to her body”. The actor faces up to one year in prison.
Majors, who rose to prominence after portraying Kang the Conqueror in Ant-Man and the Wasp, has faced serious abuse allegations since early 2023. Alongside filings made by Jabbari, Majors has also been accused of physical and emotional abuse by Emma Duncan and Maura Hooper, who each had overlapping relations with the actor.
Duncan claimed that Majors was physically violent on numerous occasions between 2015 and 2019, including one incident which saw him throw “her body across the room,” threatening he was going to “make sure you can’t have children.” Hooper states that she was “not allowed to speak to anyone about their relationship.” Majors denies the allegations.
The actor spoke publicly following his recent guilty verdict, saying that the process had been “very hard” and “confusing in many ways.” Discussing the trial with Linsey Davis, he said: “How is that possible based off the evidence, based off the prosecution’s evidence, let alone our evidence? How is that possible?”
Addressing the new claims against the actor, Jabbari’s lawyer said her suit was a testament to “true bravery,” adding that it is an act of holding “someone with this level of power and acclaim accountable.”
