Mark Ruffalo blasts Joe Rogan’s delayed criticism of Trump’s ICE raids: “It’s a little late now”
Mark Ruffalo has criticised controversial podcaster Joe Rogan for his inconsistent stance on Donald Trump, branding his condemnation of the US President’s ICE raids as “a little late now”.
Rogan had notoriously supported Trump throughout his election campaign last year but has now recently been voicing his disapproval of some of the administration’s policies, such as the brutal ICE raids on immigrant groups in the country.
This was on display in a recent episode of his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, in which he branded the raids “insane” and called out Trump’s demonisation of working people, as opposed to criminals.
In response, Ruffalo took to Threads on July 6th, responding to a clip of Rogan’s podcast by saying: “It’s a little late now to pretend Project 2025 didn’t exist and wasn’t the playbook all along. You are either not that smart or not that dumb. It’s hard to tell at this point.”
It comes as immigration raids have been taking place at various points across America as part of the Trump administration’s plan to deport millions of people out of the country.
Ruffalo has been an outspoken critic of the president in terms of the ICE raids as well as on many other issues, having been seen attending a ‘No Kings’ anti-Trump protest in New York in June, which he said he took part in as “our democracy is in real trouble”.
He told MSNBC at the time: “We see a president who has made himself a king, and we don’t see an opposition that’s powerful enough to stand up against the trampling of the constitution that’s happening every single day with executive orders, with the refusal to obey court orders, kidnapping of immigrants, people who are here legally, people who their children are being taken from them.”
