Mark Hamill branded “sick individual” by White House after sharing AI image of Donald Trump in a grave
The White House has branded Star Wars actor Mark Hamill a “sick individual” in response to a social media post about President Donald Trump.
Hamill took to Bluesky on May 6th to share an AI-generated image of Trump lying in a grave, which featured a gravestone that was etched with “1946-2024” on it.
He captioned the post, “If Only- He should live long enough to witness his inevitable devastating loss in the midterms, be held accountable for his unprecedented corruption, impeached, convicted & humiliated for his countless crimes.”
Hamill added, “Long enough to realize he’ll be disgraced in the history books, forevermore.”
Subsequently, the official White House account wrote on X, “Mark Hamill is one sick individual. These Radical Left lunatics just can’t help themselves. This kind of rhetoric is exactly what has inspired three assassination attempts in two years against our President.”
Hamill deleted the post from his Bluesky account on May 7th, following the attack from the White House.
He also took to Bluesky to share an “Accurate Edit for Clarity” of his previous caption, which reads, “‘He should live long enough to… be held accountable for his… crimes.’ Actually, I was wishing him the opposite of dead, but apologize if you found the image inappropriate.”
In the later post, Hamill used an unflattering image of Trump with windswept hair rather than the same AI image as earlier.
Trump has yet to personally address Hamill’s social media post.
Last year, during an interview with The Times, Hamill revealed that he considered leaving the United States after Trump secured his second term in the Oval Office.
However, his wife talked him into staying, sharing, “She didn’t respond right away but a week later she said, ‘I’m surprised you would allow him to force you out of your own country.'”
He added, “I still believe there are more honest, decent people than there are the MAGA crowd. If I didn’t, I’d move back to England.”
