Donald Trump instructs MAGA to boycott “dried up prune” Bruce Springsteen: “The guy is a total loser”
Donald Trump has called for his fans to boycott Bruce Springsteen‘s current tour after ‘The Boss’ hit out at the president during the opening show of the run.
On March 31st, Springsteen began the US leg of his Land of Hope and Dreams tour at the Target Centre in Minneapolis, using the show to speak out against the current Trump administration.
“We are living through some very dark times,” the singer declared up on stage, “Our American values that have sustained us for 250 years are being challenged as never before. We’ve got our young men and women’s lives at risk in an unconstitutional and illegal war.”
He went on, “There are immigrants being held in detention centers around the country and being deported without due process of law to alien countries and foreign gulags. This is happening now.”
Turning his attention to Trump, Springsteen declared, “You want to talk about snowflakes? We have a president who can’t handle the truth. This is happening now.”
Now, Trump has taken to Truth Social to fire back at Springsteen and re-escalate the feud between the pair, which previously heated up last summer when ‘The Boss’ took his Land of Hope and Dreams tour throughout Europe.
The president wrote on April 2nd, “Bad, and very boring singer, Bruce Springsteen, who looks like a dried up prune who has suffered greatly from the work of a really bad plastic surgeon, has long had a horrible and incurable case of Trump Derangement Syndrome, sometimes referred to as TDS.”
Trump continued, “The guy is a total loser who spews hate against a President who won a Landslide Election, including the popular vote, all Seven Swing States, and 86% of the Counties across America. Under Sleepy Joe and the Dems, our Country was DEAD, and now we have the ‘hottest’ Country, by far, anywhere in the World.”
He concluded, in all caps, by instructing, “MAGA SHOULD BOYCOTT HIS OVERPRICED CONCERTS, WHICH SUCK. SAVE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY. AMERICA IS BACK!!! President DJT”.
Springsteen is unlikely to stop speaking out against Trump anytime soon. Each night of the run in Europe saw Springsteen deliver an impassioned speech before playing ‘Land of Hope and Dreams‘ about how America is “currently in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent, and treasonous administration”.
This led to Trump retaliating by launching into a rant on Truth Social. He called Springsteen “highly overrated” before adding, “Never liked him, never liked his music, or his Radical Left Politics and, importantly, he’s not a talented guy”.
Since Trump’s comments, Springsteen has only continued to double down on his stance on the administration. He performed at a No Kings rally in Minnesota last weekend, and said only recently that he accepts “blowback is just part of” his job as a political singer-songwriter.
Additionally, in January, he released ‘Streets of Minneapolis‘ in honour of Alex Pretti and Renee Good, who were both killed by ICE agents in Minnesota.
Springsteen’s next tour date is scheduled to take place at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon, on April 3rd.
