Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell will star in ‘A Big Bold Beautiful Journey’

Actors Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell, who have both been nominated for Academy Awards in recent years, have signed on to star in the Imperative Entertainment-produced film A Big Bold Beautiful Journey.

Kogonada, the director of Pachinko and After Yang, the latter of which also saw Farrell star, will direct the film with a script written by The Menu’s Seth Reiss. While not too many details surround the plot of The Big Bold Beautiful Story, it tells the story of two strangers being linked by an amazing and unbelievable world.

Production will go ahead in California this spring with Dan Friedkin, Bradley Thomas and Ryan Friedkin of Imperative all producing and Kogonada, Ilene Feldman and Ori Eisen all on executive production duties.

Robbie was recently snubbed by the Academy Awards, losing out on a nomination for ‘Best Actress’ for her performance in Barbie. The decision sparked a backlash, leading to her co-star Ryan Gosling, who was nominated for ‘Best Actor in a Supporting Role’ speaking out in support of the Australian.

She later also spoke out about the decision, stating: “I just suspect it’s bigger than us. It’s bigger than this movie; it’s bigger than our industry.”

Robbie added, “We set out to do something that would shift culture, affect culture, just make some sort of impact. And it’s already done that, and some, way more than we ever dreamed it would. And that is truly the biggest reward that could come out of all of this.”

Farrell, meanwhile, who won the ‘Best Actor’ award at the Golden Globes for his effort in The Banshees of Inisherin, is set to appear in the Apple TV+ series Sugar, which will arrive on the streaming platform on April 5th.
