Mac DeMarco will pay tribute to Mac Miller on new album ‘Here Comes The Cowboy’

As the excitement builds for the latest record from Mac DeMarco, the Candanian singer has shared that two of the songs on the upcoming Here Comes The Cowboy were inspired by the late rapper, and DeMarco’s friend, Mac Miller.

Speaking to EW, DeMarco said that the album track ‘Heart to Heart’ was written for the late rapper. “We had this strange history, and then we became really close, and I was going over to his place multiple times a week, up until the point that he passed away,”

Another song ‘Skyless Moon’ was influenced by the pair’s friendship. Saying one of the last times the two hung out together was to listen to the track “We just listened to it in silence, and he just looked at me after, and he was like ‘Yes! Yes!’. I probably wouldn’t have [put the song] on the album otherwise. God bless him,”

Mac shared the latest track from the album with an equally brilliant new video. Watch the video for ‘On The Square’ below
