As fires continue to ravage Australia, everyone in the music industry worth their salt is pitching in to help the bushfire relief. The latest contributor was Mac DeMarco.
The lo-fi overlord threw a BBQ alongside some friends in Melbourne all in aid of the bush fire relief fund and the Prince of Memes managed to raise $210,000 for Wildlife Victoria and the Fire Relief Fund for First Nations Communities.
The one-day event saw a host of notable acts take to Victoria Park in Abbotsford over the weekend. Arriving at the BBQ event were Alice Skye, Cable Ties, King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard, Laura Jean, Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever and Julia Jacklin.
There were also a host of incredible DJs, including Amy and the Sniffers, and some of Australia’s finest chefs too.
There was also room on the bill for Mac DeMarco’s current tour mates, POND alongside Japanese punks Chai. All in all, the event, called Grill For Good, was a rousing success with the money raised going to help those in need.
