London Grammar have delivered a special rendition of The Weeknd’s hit song ‘Blinding Lights’.

The indie band, born out of Nottingham in 2009 and fronted by Hannah Reid, headed into the BBC studio to take place in Radio 1’s Live Lounge series to perform their own track ‘Baby It’s You’ before running through the slowed-down version of The Weeknd’s record-breaking track.

London Grammar’s new track, which arrived as the first snippet to have been released from the three-piece following their 2017 sophomore record Truth Is A Beautiful Thing, has ended the three-year hiatus as fans hope for a new album announcement.

For the cover section of the BBC series, Hannah Reid brought her haunting vocals to ‘Blinding Lights’ a tack that serves as the second single of The Weeknd’s fourth studio album After Hours. Originally released in November last year, just days after ‘Heartless’, the song propelled The Weeknd to yet more critical acclaim peaked at number one in thirty-four countries, including a high-profile victory in the United States.

The Weeknd penned the track and, working on all aspects of the material, he also produced the song alongside his collaborators Max Martin and Oscar Holter.
