Little Simz announces The Streets and Jon Batiste for Meltdown Festival 2025

Little Simz has announced the first artists to be performing at Meltdown Festival, which she is curating this year for London’s Southbank Centre.

The festival, which will take place from June 12th until June 22nd, will culminate in a performance by the rapper accompanied by the Southbank Centre’s resident Chineke! Orchestra.

The Streets will open proceedings with a performance at the Royal Festival Hall, and concerts by Lola Young, Ghetts, and Jon Batiste will also be held.

The line-up is rounded off by British-Columbian singer Sasha Keable, performing alongside the Flames Collective, as well as Yukumi, vocalist and co-founder of Swedish group Little Dragon.

In the course of the run-up to the festival, there will be a focus on championing young London music producers, who will come together to produce a programme of events and showcases during Meltdown, highlighting Little Simz’s support of new talent while also paying tribute to the range of youth clubs where she honed her sound.

The rapper said: “My team and I are preparing 11 days of art, music, workshops and more. So many incredible artists have curated this festival so it’s a true honour to be a part of it. Thank you to the Southbank Centre for having me. Meltdown 2025 the Simz way is going to be epic. I’ll see you there,” ahead of the release of her new album Lotus on May 9th.

Celebrating its 30th anniversary, Meltdown Festival is set to bring artists from across the capital city and further afield to reflect on Little Simz’s vision and sound.

The Southbank Centre’s Head of Contemporary Music, Jane Beese, added: “Ranging from jazz, hip hop, R&B, electronic and soul with a line-up of both renowned legends alongside the creators of the future, this is only the start for what’s going to be London’s go-to festival this summer.”

Tickets for Meltdown Festival go on sale from March 28th at 10am from the Southbank Centre website.
