Listen to the unheard Prince song 'Why the Butterflies'


The Prince Estate recently announced an upcoming project, compiled of demos and previously unreleased tracks, was on its way. The recordings were made at his home in Minnesota. But today they gave the first glimpse of the release with the track ‘Why Butterflies’.

The Estate in partnership with Warner Bros has shared the song via Noisey today with two more songs (‘Wednesday and ‘Cold Coffee & Cocaine’) to complete the releases from Piano & A Microphone 1983, which arrives on September 21st.

The set will also include the previously shared ’17 Days’ and ‘Mary Don’t You Weep,’ – the track included in Spike Lee’s movie BlacKkKlansman Listen to the unreleased ‘Why the Butterflies’ below.
