Lily Allen has detailed an alleged sexual assault she endured by an unnamed music industry executive.
Allen, who recently revealed that she has been the victim of sexual misconduct by a high-profile figure in the music industry, also claimed that the industry continues to hide her abuser.
The 33-year-old pop star previously compared her incident to that of actress Rose McGowan, who led the way in exposing Harvey Weinstein and accused the movie mogul of rape.
Now, in a new interview, Allen has detailed the incident which took place in Los Angeles. Explaining how she got “smashed” at a party, she said: “I woke up at 5am because I could feel someone next to me pressing their naked body against my back. I was naked, too,” she told the Guardian. “I could feel someone trying to put their penis inside my vagina and slapping my arse as if I were a stripper in a club.
“I moved away as quickly as possible and jumped out of the bed, full of alarm. I found my clothes quickly and ran out of his room and into my own.”
Upon returning from Los Angeles to London, Allen explained how she signed an affidavit detailing her the events. “I wanted it on record that I’d been sexually abused by someone I worked with,” she said.
Allen will address the alleged assault in even more detail in her eagerly anticipated new book, My Thoughts Exactly, which is due out September 20. The singer also explained that she had the intentions of naming the alleged abuser but legal advice from the publisher advised against it.
