Oasis take two? Liam Gallagher thinks his sons will form their own band
Former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher believes his two children will form a band of their own.
Gallagher, who has four children, believes his two teenage sons are “eyeing each other up” and are considering following in his father’s footsteps. Lennon (19) and Gene (18) are already in small bands separately, but Gallagher believes they could be ready to combine their talents.
“They’re both eyeing each other up…from across the room,” Liam said while appearing on the Humans Of XS Manchester podcast. “Gene has got a little band and Lennon has got a little band, they’re sort of working it out.
”They’re both playing guitar, I’ve not heard them sing yet, so that’ll be a surprise when they open their mouths and let me have it.”
He added: “Lennon’s music is a bit more spaced out, like early Verve, pretty chilled. Whereas Gene is more like in your face, Arctic Monkeys style. Go for it I say.”
While Liam is best known as being the frontman of Oasis—who he formed with his brother Noel—the singer is now promoting his second solo album Why Me? Why Not? which arrives in September.
To coincide with the album news, the former Oasis frontman has announced that on his latest tour, in support of his new albumwill include Northampton rapper and the buzziest spitter in town, Slowthai.
He shared the news in a tweet, saying: “I’m delighted to announce tickets are on sale for my UK tour and the one and only slowthai will be main support.”
In an interview with Matt Wilkinson Liam said: “I’ve seen Slowthai on Soccer AM and he had a bit of a Johnny Rotten vibe about him. I think he’s going to come on tour with us in November. Because it’s alright having a load of guitar bands on there, but it does get a bit…”
