Les Claypool and Sean Ono Lennon share new single ‘WAP’ and 2026 tour dates
Les Claypool has announced a run of tour dates for 2026, along with a new single called ‘WAP’ with Sean Ono Lennon.
The pair have been working together for over the past decade under the band name The Claypool Lennon Delirium, and have now geared back into life for the first time since 2019 with their new single ‘WAP (What A Predicament)’.
The press release for the track describes it as “A warped meditation on morality, artificial intelligence safety, and the slippery slope of optimization without empathy – set against a sonic backdrop of fuzz-drenched groove and theatrical psych-rock.”
It adds: “The track finds Claypool and Lennon in peak Delirium form, alternately biting, bewildered, and barbed as they reflect on a world gone algorithmic.”
The news of the single comes after a hugely busy run for Claypool in particular, since he has spent the past number of years simultaneously working on his solo output while also reuniting with his experimental rock band The Fearless Flying Frog Brigade, which he formed in 2000 while on hiatus from Primus.
In this spirit, the musician is set to take to the road later in 2026 with his highly ambitious Claypool Gold tour, bringing the force of his three bands, Primus, The Claypool Lennon Delirium, and Les Claypool’s Fearless Flying Frog Brigade, together as they perform one ever-changing setlist of songs throughout their respective discographies.
The tour is set to kick off on May 20th at the Reno Events Center in Reno, Nevada, before touring more than 20 other cities across the US, including Salt Lake City, Chicago, Boston, and Phoenix.
It will then wrap up with a special July 4th celebration show at the Meritage Resort and Spa in Napa, California, bringing the end of the tour to a close with a true bang.
Tickets for the Claypool Gold tour will go on general sale from January 23rd at 10am local time, with presales beginning from January 21st at 10am local time.
