Lenny Kravitz calls out fan who ripped out four of his dreadlocks in Brisbane
Lenny Kravitz has revealed that an over-excited fan accidentally ripped out four of his dreadlocks during a show in Brisbane.
During a show on November 21st, Kravitz was undertaking his usual part of the show, whereby he moves through the crowd of fans during his tune, ‘Let Love Rule’.
However, on this occasion, one fan got her hands on the star in ways he hadn’t experienced before. He shared a video on his Instagram story expressing his surprise at the incident.
“Brisbane, that was wild,” he began. “A very excited young lady pulled four dreadlocks out of the back of my head. You know how hard you’ve got to pull to rip those out of my head? Damn, baby.”
The musician did not seem distressed. Instead, he went on to clarify that he wouldn’t be changing the way that he navigated his shows.
“I’m not going to stop coming out there for ‘Let Love Rule’ because that’s our moment together,” he insisted. “Brisbane, you’re wild. I love you.”
The icon is currently on tour in Australia in support of his 12th studio album, Blue Electric Light. It was released in May 2024. His next show will take place at Melbourne’s John Cain Arena. After this, Kravitz will head to Mildura on November 28th and Adelaide on November 29th.
Let Love Rule was Kravitz’s debut solo album, released on September 6th, 1989, via Virgin Records. On the titular track, he begins, “Love is gentle as a rose / And love can conquer any war / It’s time to take a stand / Brothers and sisters join hands.”
In November, it was announced that Kravitz will star in NBC’s ‘Sunday Night Basketball’ opening on February 1st. Kravitz shot the new opening in Philadelphia with Tripp Dixon. Dixon is the NBC Sports creative director who has worked with Carrie Underwood on the NFL opening that has been in use for the last 13 seasons.
