LCD Soundsystem tease announcement with London billboards
After completing a residency at the Lockdown Centre in New York in 2024, LCD Soundsystem have teased plans to bring their signature brand of dance rock to London.
While there have been no concrete plans, DFA Records, founded by frontman James Murphy, is behind some billboards in the capital that have fans dreaming of a similar residency.
Shown in various places around Shoreditch in London, only flashing the phrase “You are here (again)” alongside the DFA logo, there are rumours that the band will be pitching up once more to deliver another stellar reminder of why they hold such a unique spot in the music world.
Even though no formal announcement has been made, many have speculated that it hints at the band hitting the road for a run of shows in London.
This comes after the band crossed the Atlantic to perform an impressive set in London. In a review of the night, Far Out stated that the build to the song ‘All My Friends’ was euphoric, saying, “Then, as ‘All My Friends’ — one of the anthems of a generation — began to power out of the PA system and the swirling energy of a combustible audience finally took off like an untetherable rocket and I bounced with glee in a circle surrounded by my pals and a mesh of flags, lights and that one beautiful hot dog vendor everything became clear.”
In addition to the potential tour, there have been signs that the band are set to release new material for the first time in eight years. After sharing the new single ‘X-Ray Eyes,’ the band announced that they would be playing Primavera Sound while stating that Murphy is more interested in living in the now than dwelling on the past.
As of yet, there has been no formal announcement of any new music but billboards usual mean something big is on the way.
