‘Euphoria’ composer Labrinth says he’s “done with this industry” and “double fuck ‘Euphoria'”

Musician and Euphoria composer, Labrinth, has revealed that he is walking away from the industry in an expletive-heavy post, which called out his label, Columbia Records, and HBO’s Euphoria.

The British singer-songwriter took to Instagram on March 12th to post the all-caps statement, “I’m done with this industry.”

He went on to add, “Fuck Columbia, double fuck Euphoria, I’m out. Thank you and goodnight.”

Currently, Labrinth remains scheduled to perform at Coachella Festival in California across both weekends in April and is also listed for Outside Lands in August.

Labrinth is best-known for his work on Sam Levinson’s teen drama; he was the creative mastermind behind ‘All For Us’, the 2019 hit featured in the Euphoria season one finale. The track won a Primetime Emmy Award in 2020 for ‘Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics’.

Labrinth was joined by Hans Zimmer for the soundtrack of the third season, which is set to air on April 12th on HBO. “It’s an honor to join this incredible team of storytellers led by the visionary Sam Levinson,” Zimmer said in a statement when his inclusion in the show was announced.

Zimmer also noted pertinently, “Labrinth’s music has shaped the show’s identity, and I’m looking forward to contributing to the ongoing story and helping shape this new season through music.”

Labrinth was overjoyed at the time, writing, “Another chapter in the ‘Euphoria’ universe! So great to join Hans, one of my heroes in film score, and bring some new magic to this new season. Love x.”

It is not immediately clear what prompted the musician to publicly announce that he is leaving the industry for good.

Season three of the show picks up five years after the events of season two, which aired in 2022.

A new trailer has revealed that Zendaya’s Rue is in debt to drug dealer Laurie, Sydney Sweeney’s Cassie and Jacob Elordi’s Nate are an engaged couple, Hunter Schafer’s Jules is an art school student, Alexa Demie’s Maddy is an aspiring talent agent, and Maude Apatow’s Lexi is a showrunner’s assistant to Sharon Stone.
