Krist Novoselic joined the Foo Fighters to cover Kurt Cobain’s favourite song ‘Molly’s Lips’
The only surviving, members of Nirvana reunited on stage during Foo Fighters’ huge gig in Seattle on Saturday night. It was a gig which saw the group come back together to play one Kurt Cobain’s favourite songs.
Former Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic, whose band Giants in the Trees opened the night for the Foos, later joined Dave Grohl, Pat Smear, and rest of Foo Fighters to cover The Vaselines’ ‘Molly’s Lips.’
“This is an old song, we have done this song together in a long time” claimed Dave Grohl as you can see from the footage below. Nirvana would cover ‘Molly’s Lips’ on numerous occasions early on in their timeline, including as part of their now infamous John Peel Session in 1990.
A recording of the cover was later included on Nirvana’s 1992 outtakes compilation, Incesticide.
