Kevin Spacey denies he’s homeless and clarifies living situation

Kevin Spacey has clarified his living situation after he recently revealed he’s living out of hotels and Airbnbs.

In a recent interview with The Telegraph, Spacey revealed that legal costs, following a slew of sexual misconduct accusations, led to him selling his home, explaining, “Because the costs over these last seven years have been astronomical. I’ve had very little coming in and everything going out.”

He continued, “In weird ways, I feel I’m back to where I first started, which is I just went where the work was. Everything is in storage, and I hope at some point, if things continue to improve, that I’ll be able to decide where I want to settle down again.”

The Usual Suspects star also said, “I’m living in hotels, I’m living in Airbnbs, I’m going where the work is. I literally have no home, that’s what I’m attempting to explain.”

As a result of his comments, it was reported that Spacey was homeless, which led him to release a social media video stating that he is choosing to travel for work rather than have a fixed abode.

Spacey began by saying “thousands of people” had reached out to him to offer him a place to stay or to check in, sharing, “And to all of you, I am truly touched by your generosity full stop. But I feel it would be disingenuous to allow you to believe I am indeed homeless in the colloquial sense.”

The actor added, “I said I was basically living in hotels and Airbnbs and going where the work is, just as I did when I first started out in this business. I’ve been working nearly nonstop this entire year and, for that, I have so much to be grateful for.”

He also said, “And there are many people, as we all know, who are indeed actually living on the streets or in their cars or are in terrible financial situations, and my heart goes out to them.”

Spacey then hit out at the headline used by The Telegraph, describing it as a “shame” and said the publication “chose to undermine the work of their own journalist by selling him out with a knowingly misleading headline for the sake of clicks”.

Spacey recently performed in a variety show in Limassol, Cyprus, and is also set to appear in the upcoming British conspiracy thriller, The Awakening.
