Kevin Clark, who is best known for playing the drummer Freddy ‘Spazzy McGee’ Jones in School of Rock, has tragically passed away after being knocked off his bicycle in a road accident on Wednesday morning.
According to TMZ, Clark was cycling in the Northwest region of Chicago when he was hit by a vehicle. After being rushed to hospital he was sadly announced dead that evening.
A 20-year-old woman was issued a citation by police who were present on the scene but she has not been arrested for her part in the tragic accident.
Following his acting debut in School of Rock, Clark ditched acting in favour of remaining behind a kit and focussed instead on the drums. In his music career, he played with the bands Dreadwolf and Robbie Gould.
Jack Black responded to the sad news by taking to Instagram to announce: “Devastating news. Kevin is gone. Way too soon. Beautiful soul. So many great memories. Heartbroken. Sending love to his family and the whole School of Rock community.”
The pair were last reunited backstage at a Tenacious D concert in Clark’s native Chicago back in 2018.
