Keith Flint, Juice WRLD, and more immortalised in tribute ‘Sgt. Peppers’ cover for 2019
A brand new tribute to the iconic Beatles Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band cover has been created featuring some of the artists and personalities we have lost this year.
Artist Chris Baker has designed a similar cover before when paying tribute to those lost in 2016 and has made a new tribute every year since. Naturally, this year will feature a host of sadly lost icons.
The tribute includes The Prodigy’s Keith Flint, Chewbacca, Big Bird, Scott Walker, Ginger Baker, Cars singer Ric Ocasek, and rapper Juice WRLD. Many others feature on the tribute and you can find the full image below.
Barker told Billboard in a statement: “When I first did the ‘Sgt. Pepper’s’ style montage in 2016 it was partly to cope with the shock really.
“The shock of so many legends passing in such a short space of time – Bowie, Prince, Carrie [Fisher], George [Martin] – and shock at the outcomes of the Trump election and the Brexit referendum. It was a shocking year and I think the world was going through a kind of collective grief.”
