Keanu Reeves to release new novel ‘The Book Of Elsewhere’
John Wick star Keanu Reeves recently announced that he is collaborating with one of his favourite authors, China Miéville, on the upcoming project, The Book of Elsewhere.
Set for release later this year, the novel was inspired by Reeves’ previous comic book series, BRZRKR, which followed a half-mortal and half-God cursed through violent battles and was co-created with artist Ron Garney and writer Matt Kindt.
In a pre-recorded video shared on Good Morning America, Reeves revealed the series would tell a similar story of an “immortal warrior’s” fight through the ages.
“I love the world of BRZRKR so much that I wanted to explore it further and thought one of the best ways to do that is through a novel,” he said, adding: “If you read it, I hope you love it.”
In a press release, Reeves said that Miéville provided a “clear architecture for the story” and understood his vision of the BRZRKR world as they undertook the collaborative process.
Miéville, who said it was a “shock and a delight” to be joining Reeves on the project, said: “I could never have predicted how generous he’d be with toys he’s spent so long creating, how glad to experiment together, how open to true collaboration.”
The BRZRKR series has had three volumes, and it was announced in 2021 that Netflix was looking to develop a live-action film on the comic book.
The Book of Elsewhere will be released in July.
