Kate Bush announces ‘Best of the Other Sides’ compilation album
Kate Bush is set to release a new remastered collection, named Best of the Other Sides.
It comes after the singer previously released another collection, called The Other Sides, in 2018, that featured a number of rare tracks and B-sides from her extensive back catalogue.
However, with that album now having become unavailable, Best of the Other Sides is being released for those fans who were unable to get their hands on a coveted copy of the collection the first time around.
According to the press release for the upcoming album, three of the tracks on the record have been freshly remastered, although it does not make clear what songs these will be.
The original collection featured alternative versions of some of Bush’s greatest hits, including ‘Running Up That Hill’ and ‘Cloudbusting’, as well as a selection of rarer B-sides that had previously been hidden away in her discography, such as ‘Walk Straight Down the Middle’ and ‘Be Kind to My Mistakes’.
It also featured a range of unique tracks in which the singer covered some iconic hits, such as ‘Candle in the Wind’ by Elton John and ‘Sexual Healing’ by Marvin Gaye.
Best of the Other Sides comes as the latest artistic venture from Bush, who is returning to music after the release of her animated short film, Little Shrew, last year. The anti-war film was announced as the winner of ‘Best Animation’ at the New York Animation Festival in December, as it used Bush’s song ‘Snowflake’ from her 2011 album 50 Words for Snow.
Best of the Other Sides will be released on September 26th in digital formats, before being made available on vinyl and CDs from October 3rd, via Fish People.
