Kasabian announce new album ‘Happenings’

Since their debut in 2004, Kasabian have steadily cemented themselves as one of the biggest bands in the UK. Despite having several specific hits at the forefront of fans’ minds when they turn up to gigs, Kasabian are fearless in trying new things and releasing new music.

Their most recent album was The Alchemist’s Euphoria, which saw the band branch into unknown territory. It was also the first album without Tom Meighan on lead vocals. An adjustment period for the band was evident, as whilst Sergio Pizzorno took to the challenge of solo vocals like a duck to water for Kasabian’s live shows, the sound and delivery of the studio album needed some fine-tuning.

Looking ahead to next year, Kasabian have announced plans to release a new album in the summer. Happenings has yet to be given an official release date, but fans can be assured it should land in mid-2024.

The album launch will coincide with the band’s massive headline show at Victoria Park on July 6th, 2024, which has also just been announced. The gig will see Kasabian return to their hometown and play the Park for the first time in a decade.

“We are truly honoured to be playing Victoria Park in our beloved hometown, with all our people for summer solstice two,” confirmed the band. “We cannot wait to get out there and play the biggest party of the summer with you all. See you in the mosh pit.”

With no singles yet, fans can only speculate what the new album might sound like, but if Kasabian’s previous history and live show are anything to go by, it will be laced with energy. The band have never shied away from making crowds sweat with dance-heavy, moshable music, and there has been nothing to suggest of late that this album will be any different.
