Jungle have announced their return with their infectious groovy new single, ‘Keep Moving’.
The return single is the first time that the London duo have brought a choir into their sonic universe, and that gospel sound slots with ease, which helps make establish ‘Keep Moving’ as a euphoric return. It’s an evolution from their first two albums and sees Jungle continue to move forward whilst staying true to the disco roots that have served them well over the last number of years.
It’s been three years since they shared their sophomore effort, For Ever, which jumped out with even more positive neu-soul energy that littered their acclaimed 2014 eponymous debut. Jungle make music that forces you to raise a smile and are one of the archetypal festival bands. Their return evokes memories of sun-soaked days, which after twelve months in some kind of lockdown seem tantalisingly close once again, with ‘Keep Moving’ offering a titillating reminder of the good times that lie ahead.
‘Keep Moving’ is the lead single from their forthcoming third album, Loving In Stereo, which arrives on August 13th. Jungle have also revealed plans to hit the road and announced a special two-night residency at the historic O2 Academy Brixton in September to coincide with the new release.
Last year, one half of Jungle, Josh Lloyd Watson, shared his debut EP, Kosmos, as J Lloyd. While the debut effort was an introspective journey that helped with the long wait for new material, it’s exhilarating to hear Watson and his partner in crime, Tom McFarland, join forces once again and get the disco ball out for their palpating new single.
If ‘Keep On Moving’ doesn’t immediately leave you with a new-found spring in your step akin to the first day of spring, then who knows what will? The exulting new track is accompanied by a one-take video described as “part Birdman part West Side Story”, watch below.
