Julian Lennon urges fans to “please get checked out” after receiving coronary heart disease diagnosis

Julian Lennon has revealed he has been diagnosed with coronary heart disease and pre-diabetic, urging fans to also get themselves checked out for potential health issues.

Taking to X on May 10th, Lennon provided a health update to fans, revealing news of his recent diagnosis while also delivering positive news about his condition.

The musician began, “After being diagnosed with Coronary Heart Disease & a Pre-Diabetic, I urge all to get checked out sooner than later, as you never know what hidden health issues you may have, even after exercising and eating as much ‘good/healthy’ food as possible.”

On a positive note, Lennon reassured his fans, “Even with these ailments, I’ve managed to catch them early enough, to be able to reverse some of the damage and will hopefully be able to live a healthy long life!”

He then reiterated his prior message, stating to his followers, “Please get checked out, before you’re checked out.”

Lastly, he emotionally added, “And last but not least, thanks to all the Doctors who have helped and guided me on this new journey so far…”

Lennon accompanied the post with a series of images of him enjoying life in the heart of nature.

According to the NHS, coronary heart disease “is the term that describes what happens when your heart’s blood supply is blocked or interrupted by a build-up of fatty substances in the coronary arteries,” and is one of the major causes of death across the world.

While coronary heart disease can’t be cured, treatment, such as making lifestyle changes or angioplasty, can work as a treatment to stave off the symptoms and lower the risk of heart attacks.

Meanwhile, the NHS defines pre-diabetes as being when “some people have blood glucose (sugar) levels above the normal range but not high enough to be diagnosed as having diabetes”, but they are at greater risk of developing type two diabetes.

Previously, in 2024, Lennon revealed he had recently undergone surgery for skin cancer for the second time following a similar incident in 2020.

His last album, Jude, was released in 2022.
