Joni Mitchell is preparing to release the a highly personal book of lyrics, poetry and paintings.

The book, which was initially created by Mitchell in 1971, was named Morning Glory on the Vine and was only made into 100 rare copies. Initially, Mitchell created the collection of handwritten lyrics, poems and paintings to give as gift to a select number of her close friends.

Now though, the book will become available to the public for the very first time and will be published through Houghton Mifflin Harcourt on October 22nd.

According to a press release, the book will include Mitchell’s paintings which range from landscapes, portraits of friends and, of course, self portraits, abstract work and still-life.

The book comes as Mitchell celebrates her seventy-fifth birthday. Early songs with some of her best-loved lyrics and poems be included ‘across the pages in her own script’. The release also states that the refreshed book features “an original introduction written by Joni herself”.
