Johnny Flynn shares 'In The Deepest' ahead of his role as Einstein

In The Deepest’ is the new single to be released from Johnny Flynn’s fourth album Sillion, which is out now on Transgressive Records. Much of the recording of Sillion was done whilst Flynn was starring in Martin McDonagh’s play Hangmen where he was playing a psychopath, Flynn says the role informed some of the darkness in the album’s lyrics – worryingly.

‘In The Deepest’ grew out of a film score commission and which Flynn describes as being about “a sense of foreboding … it has such a sense of maleficent drama to it.”

Flynn is continues his prolific touring record as well. With the recently announced Roundhouse appearance having nearly sold out, a fresh run of UK and EU dates in October and November has now been confirmed. Dates include appearances in Glasgow, Dublin, Manchester, Amsterdam, Berlin, Cologne, Brussels and Paris.

Flynn is currently starring in the first ever National Geographic-scripted series Genius. The ten-part series will chart how an imaginative yet rebellious patent clerk – who couldn’t get a job as a doctorate – unlocked the mysteries of the atom and the universe. Johnny plays the young Einstein in tandem with Golden Globe winner Geoffrey Rush, who plays him in later life. The series has been directed by the legendary Ron Howard.
