Joey King has become the latest high profile name to be attached to the upcoming action thriller Bullet Train.
The film, which has already recruited Brad Pitt, will be directed by David Leitch and written by Zak Olkewicz.
Based on the Japanese novel Maria Beetle by Kotaro Isaka, the film will tell the story of five deadly trainer assassins all on the same bullet train travelling from Tokyo to Morioka. The fast-moving transport has limited stops before its destination and, without knowing what is waiting at the end of the journey, it becomes a tale of who can stay alive.
According to Deadline, King “plays one of four leads opposite Pitt” and the actress is believed to be the only woman in the group.
Director Leitch, who is celebrated for his past projects such as John Wick, Deadpool 2, Hobbs & Shaw and more, will produce the new film alongside Kelly McCormick through their 87North company. It is also reported that Antoine Fuqua, Kat Samick and Brittany Morrissey will be on producing duties for Sony Pictures.
Like most productions this year, a specific production date has not been confirmed due to the current health crisis. Reports suggest that Sony are hoping to begin work on the film this autumn in Los Angeles with coronavirus protocols in place.
