Jodie Comer to reprise role in ‘Prima Facie’ for UK and Ireland tour
Jodie Comer is set to reprise her award-winning role in the play Prima Facie for “one last time” as it embarks on a UK tour early next year.
The actor, known for her seminal role as Villanelle in the smash hit BBC drama Killing Eve, won both a Tony and an Olivier Award for her part in the play as a barrister who defends men from rape but then is assaulted herself, when she performed it on Broadway and London’s West End, respectively.
“It is a huge privilege to return to Prima Facie for one last time,” said Comer. “I can’t think of a better finale to what has been such an incredible and deeply rewarding chapter in my life.”
The one-woman monologue play was created by Suzie Miller, who was a lawyer herself for 15 years and wrote Prima Facie in response to her experiences. It was an instant success when it opened on both sides of the Atlantic, with Comer adding that: “The resonance of Suzie Miller’s writing, both in London and New York, exceeded anything we could have imagined.”
The tour across the UK and Ireland will kick off in January 2026, taking in stops in London, Dublin, Edinburgh, Cardiff, York, Bath, Canterbury, and Birmingham, before culminating in Comer’s home city of Liverpool.
The music for Prima Facie is composed by Self Esteem, real name Rebecca Lucy Taylor, who herself will be taking to the stage in the West End for four theatrical performances of her upcoming album A Complicated Woman, before it is released on April 25th.
Tickets for the UK tour of Prima Facie go on sale on March 25th.
