Jimmy Kimmel threatens to call the FCC on Donald Trump: “I want to file a report”

Jimmy Kimmel has condemned President Donald Trump yet again for spreading “fake news”, after the president made outlandish comments about mail-in ballots.

The talk-show host commented on the ordeal during his show, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, on March 17th.

The show included footage of Trump claiming that Republicans in California did not receive their mail-in ballots compared to Democrats. The president claimed that Democrats often got “seven, eight ballots” each.

Kimmel deemed this “Nothing more than his attempt to hijack this upcoming election.”

He went on to reference his sidekick and comedian, Guillermo Rodriguez, asking pointedly, “Did you get seven or eight ballots last time?”

He added, “Is it possible he’s confusing ballots with those coupons from Bed, Bath and Beyond? Otherwise, somebody should call the FCC [Federal Communications Commission]. There’s fake news going out over the public airwaves. I want to file a report. I have a complaint to make. Every day it’s a new barrel of nuts.”

Famously, Kimmel has had plenty of his own run-ins with the FCC. Last year, FCC chairman Brendan Carr publicly targeted Jimmy Kimmel Live!, which was removed from the air for almost a week after Kimmel’s comments surrounding the assassination of Charlie Kirk caused great upset to the FCC.

At the time, Trump took to Truth Social to launch another tirade against Kimmel, which picked up on the theme of fraudulence in the media: Why does ABC Fake News keep Jimmy Kimmel, a man with NO TALENT and VERY POOR TELEVISION RATINGS, on the air?”

In January, Kimmel warned fans that the show was “once again getting threatened by the FCC.”

Later in the show, Kimmel reminded viewers of the importance of voting, now more than ever. He warned that the Save America Act “doesn’t protect your right to vote,” noting that it “does the opposite.”

He added, “It makes voting so difficult that a lot of people won’t bother to do it, which is what he wants.”

Kimmel’s latest referral to the FCC comes after he slammed Carr’s latest move, which threatened to revoke broadcast networks’ licenses over their Iran War coverage.
