Jimmy Kimmel clowns on sleeping Donald Trump during New York Knicks play-off

Jimmy Kimmel shared some words of warning for Donald Trump when his attendance at the Third NBA Finals game was announced; now, reacting to viral videos which show the president falling asleep during the match, Kimmel has added insult to injury.

In attendance at Madison Square Garden on June 9th, where the New York Knicks faced the San Antonio Spurs, Trump couldn’t quite find the motivation to stay awake.

Kimmel found the whole situation farcical, sharing in a monologue on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, “Donald Trump last night made history; he became the first sitting president to shut down a major United States city so he could take a nap in front of a sold-out crowd at the NBA finals.”

Previously, Kimmel dragged Trump for planning to attend the massive event, sharing, “This would be the first time Trump has appeared at a court in New York since being convicted of 34 felonies.”

Following this narrative, the talk-show host added again that his attendance at the game “was a bad idea to start with,” and it went “as badly as it could possibly go for Trump.”

Kimmel highlighted the fact that fans were required to “wait in line for hours” to get past the added security Trump required to attend the sporting event.

Later, after Trump was booed on the big screen during the National Anthem, he took a nap at the courtside.

Kimmel added, “There’s Dozes Malone, who spent who knows how many millions of taxpayer dollars to get there, he goes out like a light,” Kimmel commented over footage of Trump with his eyes closed.

Kimmel elaborated, “He slept for a long time. Who can fall asleep during the NBA finals at Madison Square Garden? Do you know how out of it you have to be? I hope Joe Biden was watching this and laughing his ass off last night.”

The vocal Trump dissenter wasn’t done; relating this to the forthcoming midterm general election, Kimmel added, “Basically, he did to the Knicks last night what he’s going to do to Republicans in Congress come November.”

Fellow host Jimmy Fallon had some choice words about the sleeping president over on his show, where he quipped,  “President Trump slept at Madison Square Garden for Game 3 of the N.B.A. finals, and the Knicks fans are blaming him for the team’s loss. Trump doesn’t want to be blamed, so today he called the N.B.A. and demanded they ‘find’ five more points for the Knicks.”
