Jeremy Allen White promises ‘The Bear’ season 3 will be in a “functioning kitchen atmosphere”
Jeremy Allen White has promised The Bear will return to a “functioning kitchen atmosphere” in series three as he begins to prepare for filming.
The hit programme was renewed for a third series in November. In the award-winning series, White portrays Carmy, a celebrated chef who returns to his native Chicago to run his late brother’s sandwich shop.
In a new interview with Variety, White was asked what he could reveal about the upcoming season of the hit TV show The Bear. In response, the lead actor said that he has received several scripts but hasn’t read them yet as he goes back to basics to top up his skills. However, in his own preparation for filming, White is heading into the kitchen to work with chefs.
“I do know in January I’m going to spend a fair amount of time getting together with some chefs,” White said. “There’ll be a menu set, I believe, that’s going to be for the restaurant in the third season,” he revealed as one clue for season three.
White also added: “And I know that I’m going to start putting together that menu with different chefs and cooking and just trying to get prepared to do more of that stuff on camera.”
This process is similar to the character development and training he did ahead of season one. “We all did a lot of preparation before the first season. I went to culinary school and I spent a lot of time in restaurants and stuff,” he continued.
“And then, for the second season, so much of it was about putting the restaurant together, so there wasn’t that much cooking,” he added but reveals that season three is going back to basics, “But now, in the third season, I think we’re going to go back to that functioning kitchen atmosphere that we had in the first.”
The Bear was recently ranked in Far Out’s top TV shows of 2023. Although he release date for season three has yet to be announced, with White’s preparation beginning in January, filming appears set for early 2024.
