Watch Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson in new ‘Die My Love’ trailer

A new trailer has been released for the hugely anticipated thriller, Die My Love, featuring Robert Pattinson and Jennifer Lawrence as a couple thrown into the throngs of isolation and distress that comes with raising a newborn.

Die My Love is the latest film from Lynne Ramsay, known for previous cutting works such as We Need To Talk About Kevin and You Were Never Really Here. Her new offering is an adaptation of the 2017 novel of the same name by Ariana Harwicz. Lawrence is also a producer of the movie.

The official synopsis reads: “Grace and Jackson, a young couple who move from New York City to Jackson’s rural childhood home in Montana, are in search of a quieter life. As they adjust to their new surroundings and become parents, Grace begins to struggle with feelings of isolation and psychological distress. Her deteriorating mental health gradually drives their marriage into unsettling and unpredictable territory.”

In the trailer, things begin pleasantly between the couple, who can be seen crawling playfully together in a field. The happy-go-lucky Shirley Ellis hit tune ‘The Clapping Song’. Things take a turn for the dark and macabre as the trailer progresses, with Lawrence’s character snarling, growling, and yelling as she enters psychosis.

At Cannes Festival, where the movie debuted, Lawrence opened up about the psychological impact of this project: “I had just had my firstborn. There’s not really anything like postpartum. It’s extremely isolating, which is so interesting when Lynne moves this couple to Montana. Extreme anxiety and depression are isolating, no matter what.”

Alongside the new trailer, Ramsay shared a small but telling remark about the movie. She shared, “To explore the tiny loaded dramas, traumas and endurance in the everyday. The unexpected happening. The loss of oneself. The paralysis. I found that all in Grace. And how Jackson loves her despite his inability to ever understand her.”

Die My Love will be released in UK and Irish cinemas on November 14th.
