Japanese Breakfast, the work of Michelle Zauner, is back with a brand new album entitled Soft Sounds From Another Planet.
The record follows Zauner’s debut LP Psychopomp, a project which was built as a method to output the feeling of utter devastation after the death of her mother.
With an experimental and lo-fi pop sound, the latest sophomore offering flirts with sci-fi elements and sounds but the lyrical composition continues to in the same vein as her debut as Zauner moves into the next stage of emotional expression.
Having recently released the video for single ‘Road Head’, Japanese Breakfast have announced a string of North America and European tour dates.
On the below video, Zauner, who also directed the video, said in a statement: “For this one we wanted to focus on staging and an exaggerated colour palette. We were inspired by Fallen Angels and Twin Peaks.”
