James Taylor announces new UK tour

Singer-songwriter James Taylor has confirmed details of a new UK tour in 2026.

The upcoming set of shows by the ‘You’ve Got a Friend’ singer mark his first set of concerts on UK soil since 2022.

The run will begin in Scotland with a performance at Edinburgh Castle on July 14th before Taylor heads down to Yorkshire for a show at The Piece Hall in Halifax. The tour will then take a detour for a concert in Amsterdam at AFAS Live on July 21st.

Upon returning back to the UK following his brief trip to the Netherlands, Taylor is set to perform a huge concert at The O2 in London on July 23rd. The tour will then close on July 25th at the Open Air Theatre on July 25th.

The announcement comes shortly after Taylor concluded an extensive summer tour that saw him visit a huge number of amphitheatres across North America, including two nights at the MGM Music Hall at Fenway Park in Boston.

Taylor has not released a studio album since American Standard in 2020, which later won the Grammy for ‘Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album’ a year later.

Earlier this year, it emerged that a juxebox musical, titled Fire and Rain after his famous song, is set to be adapted from his career. The project will be written by Tracy Letts and directed by David Cromer.

He explained of the project to Sharing Dash: “This particular one we’re working on is not connected to my life at all. I mean, except that, of course, it’s using very autobiographical, personal songs that I’ve written. But there’s a story that the music supports, and is woven into the music and into the story. It’s a fascinating process, but it doesn’t occupy me so constantly that I don’t have time to write new songs.”

Taylor’s tour dates are listed below.
