James Blake has shared his brand new single ‘You’re Too Precious’ which is his first piece of new material since 2019’s Assume Form.
Blake has been keeping himself as well as his fans occupied over the last few weeks while he has been self-isolating with an array of live streams where he has performed an eclectic mix of covers such as Billie Eilish song ‘When The Party’s Over’, offered a glorious rendition of Radiohead’s ‘No Surprises’ and Joni Mitchell’s ‘A Case Of You’ as well as performing some of his own material.
‘You’re Too Precious’ is a track that the 31-year-old crooner has been teasing for some time, he first mentioned the song in a chat with Billboard all the way back in October: “I am about to drop something, a song that I am really excited about,” he said. “The title is ‘You’re Too Precious.’”
Unfortunately, this track does seem to be a stand-alone release and fans shouldn’t be expecting another full release effort from the Englishman anytime soon as he told Beats 1’s Zane Lowe: “It is a strange time to release music in terms of a record… I think, just industry-wise, it’s just a strange time. I don’t really know what is up or down.”
