Iggy Pop, Public Enemy and more get Lifetime Achievement Grammy Awards
Iggy Pop and Public Enemy are among the names selected for the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Grammy Award at the 2020 event.
Alongside them, Chicago, John Prine, Roberta Flack, Isaac Hayes, and Sister Rosetta Tharpe will also be honoured at the ceremony which takes place April 18, 2020, at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium.
“Our industry is one that prides itself on influence and paying it forward, and each year the Recording Academy has the privilege of honouring a select group of visionaries whose creative contributions have rippled throughout our culture,” Recording Academy President and CEO Deborah Dugan said in a press release.
Dugan also added that the chosen artists, who will receive Special Merit Awards, “have moulded their musical passion into pieces of history that will continue to influence and inspire generations of music creators and music lovers to come.”
