House of Protection pull out of Reading and Leeds due to lack of financial resources
House of Protection have withdrawn from Reading and Leeds Festival due to a lack of financial resources after another booking was cancelled.
The American duo, which consists of Aric Improta and Stephen Harrison, was due to perform at Reading Festival on August 23rd and Leeds Festival on August 24th at the Festival Republic Stage.
Taking to Instagram, House of Protection explained to their followers how a trip to the UK was no longer viable after the Heavy Music Awards was changed to a digital-only ceremony. They had been due to perform at the event, which was supposed to take place at the O2 Forum Kentish Town in London on August 21st.
The band solemnly shared: “We are devastated to announce that we will no longer be performing at this year’s Reading & Leeds Festivals.”
House of Protection went on to explain: “Most of the funding to make this short trip possible was coming from our performance at the Heavy Music Awards, which unfortunately has been cancelled due to unforeseen and serious health issues affecting a key member of their team. Our condolences go out to that team member during this challenging time.”
They also apologised to fans, writing, “We are deeply sorry to disappoint those who were excited to see us. Unfortunately, we simply don’t have the resources to make this happen at the moment. Your support means everything to us, and we want to assure you that we are already looking forward to making it up to you in the near future (Spain as well).”
The duo concluded by looking ahead to their return to the UK later this year, “This decision was not easy for us. Thank you for your understanding and continued support. We’ll be back in the UK with Architects in October.”
Reading and Leeds Festival is set to take place across the August bank holiday weekend between August 22nd and August 24th. This year, it’ll be headlined by Travis Scott, Bring Me The Horizon, Chappell Roan and Hozier.
Other acts set to appear across the weekend at both sites include Limp Bizkit, The Kooks, Enter Shikari, Block Party, D-Block Europe, Trippie Redd, Wunderhorse, Royel Otis, Soft Play, Suki Waterhouse, and AJ Tracey.
