Ok, so we got it wrong. Hinds are not writing the new World Cup song for the Spain, instead they’re releasing a brand new album and have shared new track ‘New For You’ and the football themed video.
It all starts to make sense then, the band from Madrid have been sharing teasers for weeks and now it all comes to a head as the quartet get ready to release their most veracious work yet. New album I Don’t Run will come out on April 6th via Lucky Number. There will also be a tour to support the new record with some UK dates, all the dates can be found below.
The album sees the band taking on their work with a much more hand son approach. less technicians, less producers, just some girls, their songs and their instruments. True artistry.
But until that arrives in the Spring we have a brand new track ‘New For You’ and a video to get our greedy chompers around. The song itself is classic Hinds; jangling indie-garage-pop, tangled up in a loose fitting cardigan, but splashed with a touch of Spanish flair usually saved for those diminutive number 10 roles.
We’ll let Carollta explain the video “I thought it cannot be more Spanish (football) and that it cannot be more a male sport, and that it is good to present a different gender-reality without even trying hard. I think sports are such a good metaphor with life, with goals, passion and suffer.”
Simple then. Watch, listen, enjoy.
