‘Happy Gilmore 2’ release date revealed by Netflix
Adam Sandler‘s long-awaited movie, Happy Gilmore 2, has received a release date from Netflix and is finally set to arrive this summer.
Talk of Happy Gilmore 2, the sequel to Sandler’s famous 1996 movie, has been discussed for many years, but it took until last year for it to finally come to fruition. Filming began in New Jersey last September, and now, it’s been confirmed that the highly-anticipated movie will land on Netflix in July.
In addition to Sandler returning to the titular role, Happy Gilmore 2 is set to feature a litany of stars from the golfing and entertainment spheres. From the golfing world, Keegan Bradley, Bryson DeChambeau, John Daly, Tony Finau, Rickie Fowler, Brooks Koepka, Rory McIlroy, Collin Morikawa, Jack Nicklaus, Corey Pavin, Xander Schauffele, Scottie Scheffler, Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, Lee Trevino and Will Zalatoris will feature.
Meanwhile, Eminem, Bad Bunny, Kid Cudi, Benny Safdie and Travis Kelce are set to flex their acting muscles on screen. The movie will also include appearances from seasoned professional actors including Margaret Qualley and Nick Swardson.
Of course, Christopher McDonald, Julie Bowen, Ben Stiller, Dennis Dugan, and Allen Covert will reprise their respective roles from the original movie. Happy Gilmore 2 will begin streaming on Netflix on July 25th.
Last August, Sandler explained while on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon why it was the right time to revisit the beloved character. “It’s good. We worked hard on the script, man! We didn’t want to let anybody down,” he proudly shared.
“People have been asking me for a long time, ‘Do Happy Gilmore 2,’ and I was always like, ‘Nah, I’ll only let you down,'” Sandler continued. “But then me and my buddy, Tim Herlihy, we came up with this idea. We’re really excited about it. We wrote our asses off. We’re continuing to try to make it a movie that you guys will like.”
