Former Guns N’ Roses drummer Frank Ferrer reveals “disappointment” over exit

Drummer Frank Ferrer has revealed his “disappointment” after exiting the classic rock band Guns N’ Roses.

The drummer, who played with the group from 2006 up until their most recent tour in 2023, took to Instagram on March 21st for the first time since his departure was announced last week.

His statement read: “The outpouring of love I have felt from the incredible fans of Guns N’ Roses and my peers over the past 24 hours has been tremendous. I will have immense gratitude and love always for Axl [Rose] and the band while at the same time, disappointment that this chapter came to an end.”

Ferrer added: “It has been an incredible 19 years. Guns N’ Roses has given me life-changing memories and experiences. A huge thanks to management, the crew, and fans for giving me memories that I will cherish for my lifetime. I hope I see you all again soon!”

The reasons behind Ferrer’s “amicable” exit from the band remain unclear, but when revealing that he would be leaving in a social media post on March 19th, Guns N’ Roses said: “The band thanks Frank for his friendship, creativity, and sturdy presence over the past 19 years, and they wish him success in the next chapter of his musical journey.”

The next day, Guns N’ Roses announced Isaac Carpenter would be joining as the band’s new drummer for their future projects. Carpenter, who has previously played with the likes of Awolnation, “has made a name for himself by uniquely blending versatility and groove with crushing force and technical skill,” they noted, ahead of their upcoming tour later this year.

Guns N’ Roses’ new world tour will kick off in South Korea in May, before heading to Asia, the Middle East, and Europe throughout June and July.
