Grimes shares the original album artwork for 'Miss Anthropocene'

The mercurial singer and artist Grimes, AKA Claire Boucher, has shared the shelved original album artwork for her recent LP Miss Anthropocene saying, “I wish I trusted my gut.”

In a new Instagram post, Grimes has shared the original album artwork for the album, explaining the piece was rejected after a poll overturned Grimes’ original hope of using it as the cover of the LP.

“This was the original Miss Anthropocene album cover which I commissioned from one of my favourite artists,” says Boucher about the piece from Korean illustrator Rupid Leejm. “I polled a bunch of ppl and everyone said not to use it (??)”

“I wish I trusted my gut,” reads the caption on the Instagram. “I fucking LOVE this painting. Maybe there’s a way to utilise it still (very open to ideas if u guys have ideas). I also love commissioning and/or buying prints and art. It’s something I just got into this year. It’s a great way to support visual artists during the quarantine.”

As well as Miss Anthropocene being released this year 2020 will also see Grimes give birth to her first child with Tesla CEO Elon Musk.
