Greg Freeman announces new album, ‘All Set The Bone’

Greg Freeman has confirmed details of his new album, All Set The Bone, which will arrive later this year.

To tease the forthcoming release, set for release on October 2nd through Transgressive/Canvasback, Freeman has shared the lo-fi earworm of a lead single, ‘Indu’.

All Set The Bone is produced by John Congleton, who has previously been behind the mixing desk for albums by St Vincent, Alvvays, Blondie, Angel Olsen, and Sharon Van Etten.

Freeman has wasted little time in making All Set The Bone, which follows-up on 2025’s breakthrough record Burnover.

“I had this epiphany moment where I understood what the next record should be,” he explained of the quick turnaround, adding, “which surprised me, because I thought it would take a lot longer to have the influences or inspiration required to undertake writing a new album.”

He says All Set The Bone is a “reflection of a lot of change, and a lot of tension”, as he waved bye to Burlington to head to the South West to make the record while also committing to music on a full-time basis without juggling it alongside jobs such as a cemetery landscaper and restaurant line cook.

Per press materials, the album “is populated by a grain of similarly unsettled people: a voter buried in credit card debt, a pair of Christian hearts clanking like trapped lobsters, a town of bent necks, a lover with limbs bent like crab apple trees”.

The announcement of All Set The Bone comes just weeks before Freeman is due to touch down in Europe for a run of festival dates, as well as two headline shows at Moth Club in London, a night at YES in Manchester, and at The Louisiana in Bristol.

While in Europe, he will also perform at Way Out West in Sweden, Green Man in Wales, Pukkelpop in Belgium, Supersonic in France, Bogen F in Switzerland, as well as at Hit The City and Into the Great Wide Open in the Netherlands.

Then, in September, Freeman will embark on a lengthy North American tour, beginning in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on September 20th, and due to conclude on familiar ground in South Burlington, Vermont, on November 21st.
