Green Day lead singer, Billie Joe Armstrong, is trying to spread some good vibes during this dark time as he covers Tiffany’s 80s bop, ‘I Think We’re Alone Now’.
The ongoing coronavirus outbreak has sent most sane people back into their homes for a bout of self-isolation. It has meant that many of our favourite musicians have come out in force to share some at-home sessions or unreleased material.
Green Day lead singer, Billie Joe Armstrong, is the latest to follow suit as he provided a joyful cover of the Ritchie Cordell-penned track, ‘I Think We’re Alone Now’.
“While we’ve all been in quarantine I’ve been reflecting on the things that matter the most in my life. Family, friends and of course music,” Armstrong wrote. “I figure if we have to spend this time in isolation at least we can be alone together.”
Armstrong and his band, Green Day, were among the first artists to postpone their tours amid the coronavirus outbreak. But we’d rather not spend too much time thinking about that.
We’d much rather watch Billie Joe Armstrong sing his heart out like he was in the middle of an 80s mall.
