Grass House share new song ‘Plough More Sky’

Grass House - 'Plough More Sky'
4.5

Still establishing themselves within London’s busy music scene, Grass House have marked their arrival with the release of Plough More Sky. Their live performances have already set them apart, offering a sound that is distinctive, raw, and slightly unpolished, but compelling.

The EP kicks off with ‘Cockroach’, all slow-burn menace until the walls start shaking. Nick Jones’ bass lines crawl along the floor, guitars wail somewhere off in the smoke, and Liam Palmer leans into it, letting lines like “Let this language burn, let those leeches bleed” hang in the air like a threat.

It doesn’t sit still for long. ‘Snowcones’ throws a spanner in the works, swapping out the slow swagger for a mad-eyed stomp. Palmer spits out, “The entirety of mankind is hanging by a thread…” and for a minute it feels like the song might just tear itself apart. It’s messy, brilliant, and just about holding together with chewing gum and nerves.

Closer ‘Bottom of the Sea’ doesn’t so much end the record as drag it down kicking and screaming. It’s the sound of a band pulling at their own seams, daring it all to fall apart. And weirdly, it works.

If you caught the early rumblings around ‘And Now for the Wild’, this EP takes that raw energy and pours it into something nastier and sharper. Grass House aren’t here to fit neatly on a Spotify playlist. They’re building their own wreckage—and it’s a hell of a thing to watch.
