Grammys 2026: Bad Bunny celebrates victorious night with powerful speech in Spanish

At the 68th edition of the Grammys, Bad Bunny rounded off one of the biggest nights in his career with a rousing speech in Spanish, his native language.

After Harry Styles called out his name as the winner of the coveted ‘Album of the Year’ category, with tears in his eyes, Bad Bunny took to the stage to celebrate the triumph of his album Debi Tirar Mas Fotos.

The Puerto Rican artist has consistently used his platform to address the exigent sociopolitical circumstances in the United States, and this night was no different.

Bad Bunny declared, “I want to dedicate this award to all the people who had to leave their homeland, their country, to follow their dreams.”

He said in Spanish, “Puerto Rico, believe me when I say that we are so much bigger than 100 by 35 and there is nothing that exists that we can’t accomplish… Thank God, thank you to the academy, thank you to all the people who have believed in me throughout my whole career. To all the people who worked on this album. Thank you, mami, for giving birth to me in Puerto Rico. I love you.”

Adding, “For all the people who have lost a loved one and even then have had to continue moving forward and continue with so much strength, this award is for you all.”

Among the other big winners was Kendrick Lamar, who picked up ‘Record of the Year’ for ‘Luther’, which featured SZA, marking his fifth win of the night.

Other major names who picked up Grammys include Billy Eilish, who won ‘Song of the Year’ for ‘Wildflower’ and Olivia Dean, who secured the ‘Best New Artist’ prize.

However, it was definitely Bad Bunny’s night, who previously let out a rally cry of ‘ICE out’, as he gathers momentum for his Super Bowl halftime show next week.
