Grammys 2024: The complete list of winners
The 66th Grammy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles on February 4th was a night to remember for Taylor Swift, who took home the prestigious prize of ‘Album of the Year’. This was a record-breaking fourth win for her in this category. Meanwhile, the accolade of ‘Song of the Year’ belonged to Billie Eilish for ‘What Was I Made For?’.
The ceremony took place at the Crypto Arena in Los Angeles and was hosted by comedian Trevor Noah, formerly of The Daily Show. In the United States, the historic occasion was aired on CBS and Paramount+, while in the United Kingdom, the Grammys were streamed online.
The list of nominations was revealed by the Recording Academy in November after the first round of voting concluded on October 20th, reopened on December 14th, and closed again on January 24th.
For the first time in Grammys history, they introduced the new categories of ‘Best African Music Performance’, ‘Best Alternative Jazz Album’, and ‘Best Pop Dance Recording’ for the 66th edition. These awards were won by Tyla, Meshell Ndegeocello, and Kylie Minogue, respectively.
Other highlights from the ceremony include performances from Joni Mitchell and Billy Joel. The latter closed the awards show by thrilling the audience with his new single, ‘Turn The Lights Back On’, which marks his first new track since 2007. Meanwhile, Mitchell played ‘Both Sides Now’.
Billie Eilish, SZA, Dua Lipa, Olivia Rodrigo, Travis Scott, U2, and Burna Boy also performed at the ceremony. Meanwhile, Tracy Chapman teamed up with country star Luke Combs on ‘Fast Car’, which Combs topped the Billboard 200 chart with in 2023.
