Grammys 2024: Paramore wins ‘Best Rock Album’ with ‘This Is Why’
At the 2024 Grammy Award ceremony, Paramore took home the coveted award for ‘Best Rock Album’ for their effort, This Is Why.
In total, the classic pop-punk band were nominated for two awards. They made good on both of these nominations, also picking up the award for ‘Best Alternative Music Performance’ with the title track from the record.
These wins follow the Nashville band finishing their record deal with Atlantic. In conversation with Uproxx, the band revealed that since becoming free agents, there is a “level of uncertainty” about the future of the group.
However, they did quickly add: “The only thing that matters is we will still get to be each other’s community.”
Drummer Zac Farro added, “I just hope we can keep building the Paramore empire and then rule the world.”
To win the award ‘Best Rock Album’ award, Paramore beat the other nominees, who were Foo Fighters for But Here We Are, Greta Van Fleet for Starcatcher, Metallica with 72 Seasons, and Queens of the Stone Age’s In Times New Roman.
However, the biggest winner on the evening was their recent Eras touring partner Taylor Swift. The pop star who they have supported in the UK and Europe won the ‘Best Album’ gong for a record-breaking fourth time in a ceremony that also saw Billy Joel and Joni Mitchell perform.
