On yet another landmark evening, the 2021 Grammy Awards delivered immense quality as the likes of Taylor Swift, BTS, Cardi B and more reigned supreme.

In what has been a turbulent year for the music industry, the Recording Academy awarded their iconic Golden Gramophones in 83 different categories, including, of course, the coveted gong for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Album of the Year and Best New Artist.

It was a record night all round as Beyonce, who led all Grammy nominees with nine in total, has set a new record with her 28th win, an accolade that makes her the most-winning performer-singer in Grammys history. “As an artist, I believe it’s my job to reflect the times, and it’s been such a difficult time,” she said when she was presented in honour of ‘Black Parade.’ “So I wanted to uplift, encourage, celebrate all of the beautiful black queens and kings that continue to inspire me and inspire the world”.

In more record-breaking news, Taylor Swift made history by becoming the first female artist ever to win Album of the Year three times. “Joe, who is the first person that I play every single song that I write, and I had the best time writing songs with you in quarantine,” Swift said to her boyfriend in what is a glimpse into the reality of the singer’s life.

Elsewhere, Billie Eilish won Record of the Year for Everything I Wanted, Megan Thee Stallion Featuring Beyoncé won Best Rap Song for ‘Savage’ H.E.R. won Song of the Year for the emotionally charged ‘I Can’t Breathe’ and Megan Thee Stallion won Best New Artist.
