Grace Lightman delivers on ‘Fangs’

After fronting a heavy psych band, Grace Lightman may have been expected to branch out in to a decidedly softer world when seeking her own solo sound. What she has done however, is create something entirely singular.

Instead doing a psych-lite version of The Hypnotic Eye (the aforementioned group), Lightman has re-directed herself to add some r&b breeze in her vocals, a dip of the hat to the ‘60s and still  deliver while feeling extremely fresh and current.

Being released as a double a-side with soon to be released ‘Halloween Is Over’ – is this a theme? – the new work really shows the capability of Lightman, and with the backing of Handsome Dad, that capability is likely to be breached.
